I agree with one of the responders here that you should separate the goodie bags by age groups. There are ways to get donations such as have a dentist give you toothbrushes and toothpaste samples. Call a teen mag and see if they will give you either a sample or coupons for their mag. Go to a dollar store and get a bunch of inexpensive fun stuff such as stickers, lip gloss, fun straws, glittery things, school items, etc… The fact that you are giving away a goody bag is great in and of itself. They will have fun with whatever is inside. Have a piece of candy inside but try not to go overboard with candy – this is not a good way to set an example. Plus it goes into eating disorders and weight issues. You might choose healthy snacks such as the small oranges or other fruits vs. candy.
There needs to be separate bags for the younger and older girls. For example, the 6-11 year olds would probably be thrilled with some Hannah Montana lip gloss, but the 12-16 year olds would care less and maybe throw it away. Here are my suggestions
6-11 sparkly lip gloss, maybe a light color of nail polish
12-16 More mature cosmetics, and darker nail polish colors.
How about those mini photo albums. I am sure the older girls have a pictures of family and friends that maybe the have taken themselves. There are really cute albums here, http://www.storephotos.com/plasticalbums.html There are some mini albums priced as low at $.99, so you wouldn’t have to spend on ton, of course that will depend on how many girls you are making gift bags for. You can even consider putting these albums in the older girl’s gift bags.
A few other suggestions for gift items for the bags would be, lip glosses, mini mirror compact, hair barrettes, hand lotion, body spray, things like that would work nicely too.
