Thank you for your thoughtful gift.
If someone is dumb enough to make a point of it for you after that, say
Im sure they didn’t go shopping together
or
great minds think alike
or
they both know me so well.
In any event don’t express a preference for one or the other and don’t express your plans on how you will manage this later."I’ll figure something out" and drop it.
Say, "Thank you." That’s all. No need to bring up that you’ve already gotten it, even if it’s at the same party. If you’re really close with both of them, you can laugh and say, "No wonder you’re my friends. You know me too well." I’d personally keep them both. Home appliances break and you’re going to want another one at some point.

"wow, now I have TWO crappy gifts!"
Laugh it off. Its no big deal. When you open the second one say something like, ‘Hey, is someone re-wrapping the gifts that already got opened?’
"Wow, thank you…I’m twice as happy with my (whatever it is) now!"

I vote you go with Joe’s great minds think alike or they know me so well. Classy, funny, and mercifully brief.
